Role Overview
A leading healthcare service provider is seeking a Biomedical Engineer to perform on-site medical equipment maintenance, repairs, and asset management in a hospital setting. The role involves ensuring equipment reliability, supporting clinical teams, and meeting service performance targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) on medical equipment in line with manufacturer guidelines.
- Diagnose and carry out repairs on a variety of medical devices.
- Ensure all service documentation is completed accurately and in accordance with operational procedures.
- Support the site manager/team leader in achieving service level agreements and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Provide technical support to hospital staff, ensuring minimal disruption to clinical operations.
- Maintain spare parts inventory and ensure equipment is properly calibrated and functional.
- Travel to multiple healthcare sites as required for maintenance and repairs.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory standards within the hospital environment.
- Liaise with OEM service teams and hospital management to coordinate service activities.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- Certified OEM training in medical device servicing.
- HNC or equivalent in Electrical, Electronic, or Biomedical Engineering.
- 2–5 years of experience in a UK healthcare setting, working with medical equipment.
- Strong customer relationship management skills.
- Working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Familiarity with national and local regulatory standards for medical equipment.
- Experience working in clinical environments with direct patient interaction.
Desirable:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
